Go to pin 8 on C1 of the ECM. Brn/Wt wire (CMP sig). KOEO check voltage. If 11.5v, unplug C1 and again check voltage at pin 8 KOEO.

Is there a diagram of that connector/which one is it?

Also, my working theory is that, even though I have triple checked the timing and it is spot on, when you put the plugs back in that side, which is also the side with the CMP sensor, the added compression makes either the belt stretch, or more likely one of the tensioners give a little more (issue being a weak belt tensioner), throwing off the timing and maybe the CMP.

My question is, can it run with the CMP off or mismatched to the crank position sensor?

IE if that side is thrown off only when there is compression, the firing of the CMP and CKP sensors are out of sync, not letting it fire only when the plugs are in, when you take the plugs out, that side is not under the pressure, so the timing stays close enough and the sensors are sync'd enough to let it fire. That's probably not it, but I am running out of theories...

I am going to put it back together this morning and put the plugs in the coil, out of the car and ground them to the engine to see if I am getting any fire. I will also try the other side as well. I didn't want to do that before because I did not want to risk frying a coil pack, but I am getting to the point of risking it. I will probably step away for a couple days after that, I haves spent the kids' whole spring break messing with this stupid problem.
Please let me know if there is a diagram and if you know if there is anything that keeps it from firing if the CMP lags the CPK.
Thank you again for all of your help.

It does get fire on that side. It will now also start with the plugs in, but not with the coil plugged in. I checked with other plugs, and when it starts (coil off the car with 3 lugs grounded to the intake manifold, the original 3 in the head), it still gets fire. It just wont start if the coil is on the plugs and plugged in.
