Help us help you. By posting the year, make, model and engine near the beginning of your help request, followed by the symptoms (no start, high idle, misfire etc.) Along with any prevalent Diagnostic Trouble Codes, aka DTCs, other forum members will be able to help you get to a solution more quickly and easily!
I have a 1996 Mitsubishi montero 3.0l.....I would like to know why the engine light on the dashboard doesn't comes on.....Assuming the bulb is good, what other reasons can cause that the light wont turn on when I turn the key on....??? Does the ecu case has to be grounded...??....

To answer your question, you can easily check to see if the PCM case is grounded with a test light. If it was truly missing a ground, I expect there would be more trouble than one bulb not lighting.

Thanks a lot for all the help. I am very thankful for every advise I can get. I am trying to understand how to troubleshoot the electrical and electronic systems in a car, that's the reason I ask so many questions.
