I have a 1996 Mitsubishi montero 3.0l.....I would like to know why the engine light on the dashboard doesn't comes on.....Assuming the bulb is good, what other reasons can cause that the light wont turn on...??.....help please

Did it come on earlier?or never since your ownership?, Probably bulb, a test would be to hook up a scanner and retrieve info, if you can, bulb is done

Did it just stop working on a car you've owned or did it never work a car you purchased?
It's (unfortunately) not beneath SOME shops to defeat the bulb to mask an issue either to sell the car or prevent a comeback.

Thanks for your reply. The check engine light was working, but after I try to find the ecu relay, it stop lighting. I am checking voltage drop at every point on the relay and the ecu. I don't have the ecu grounded and I don't know if this is the issue. According to the car electrical diagram (1996 Mitsubishi montero 3.0 l 12 valves) the ecu has two ground pins (#13 and #26). I checked these pins and there are no voltage drop. I wonder if the ecu case has to be grounded as well.
