Gee...he said that like its a 5 minute job :D
Trust, if it were that easy, i would. If i go through all that trouble, i might as well rebuild the original one as well....but these are options im still juggling

Yes, pulling the crankshaft is a valid option at this point. I wonder if that reluctor is pressed on or what...

Don't beat yourself up! You are NOT the first person to make this mistake. DIYers and professional shops alike have been getting screwed by this JTEC/NGC thing for years.

Oh, speaking of! I just remembered a ScannerDanner video that dealt with a similar situation:

IMO, with all the time/effort you'd invest in moving reluctors around, you'd be better off just finding the correct engine. :(

Yeah, thats probably the route im thinking....or, since im not in a real hurry to get it running maybe ill pit extra time and just rebuild it..the cylinder walls on the original motor are not damaged at all surprisingly looking at the damage to the piston that failed. So im still up in the air....scanning the "my parts shop" link from Hollander to see if i find a deal....to see if i find something that will make it a easier decision

I figure i give a quick update here and say im gonna go ahead and just replace the pistons on the damaged block and put the ones from the good block on the correct block. A compression test confirmed all cylinders are good so i guess ill keep this thread updated with progress. If anyone have any pointers for me in going this direction they are all welcome!!

Just done one of these engines, there is a 32 and 16 relucter wheel. They changed Half year of 2002 which is what I have the 16. Crank has to come out, it unbolts and only fits one way cant mess it up. Any questions ask me, I've been through it on this engine, thanks Vance.
