I was just reviewing the pinpoint test for LF the wheel speed senor on an 08 Ford Expedition. I was surprised to see that in the pinpoint test it says at the top "CAUTION : No measurements should be taken with the wheel speed sensor connected. Damage to the wheel speed sensor will result. What the heck are they talking about, am I supposed to believe that if I scope the two sensor wire with the key on and the sensor connected I will damage it? Thoughts?

I wonder if the engineers threw that in there because of the Rotunda Active Wheel Speed Tester? Since it sounds a lot like the home built ABS WSS testers Andy has posted about in the past:
To answer your question, no, you won't damage anything if you scope the WSS with the key on. One wire or both. I've done it many times with no issues. Heck, I've gone on test drives wired that way.
