Good morning everyone. I am new here and I am building my tools and skills on using this equipment. I have 28 years of experience as an automotive technician and I've used lab scopes before but the last 8 years I have been a fleet mechanic for an ambulance service and have not used them here. My wife and I are looking to open a shop for ourselves and I am looking to improve my diagnostic skills and equipment. If you guys have any suggestions for opening a shop or what equipment works well (I have a Modis Edge and the original Modis for scopes) I would welcome the advice.

Please start with the most important tools, your mind, and a good wife. Create a business plan and what you want to focus on. Being a tech is one thing, running the business is a whole lot different.
