Hello all!
I am new here, not a mechanic by profession but have done most of the work on our cars when they needed it. I have not done much in depth repair since I owned a Delorean some time ago. I became intimately familiar with its CI system and its quirks. That was a long time ago lol. All of our recent family type cars have been relatively modern and have required no repairs aside from the usual regular maintenance stuff, brakes, oil etc. We bought this Acadia used and, it being a 2018 model, we did not expect it to have any serious problems since that has been our experience with modern cars. I think that may have been an unfortunate assumption!
Anyway, this site is great and I really like the analytic approach to solving problems rather than throwing parts at things. I used this approach with the Delorean and I would like to continue it but, as I am learning, modern cars are much more complex!
I also repair antique radios and early digital test equipment as a hobby, so I have some electrical competence. If you are interested and can suffer through my amateurish troubleshooting I have a thread up in the repair question section about our Acadia. Happy to be here!
