Hello All was created by graysonwelch
To whoevers reading this, hello. Im Grayson. I was getting a new screen protector for my maxisys ultra was "window" shopping AES wave when I came across the book. I honestly clicked on it because it had the most reviews. but upon reading about it, it was exactly the thing ive been looking for for a while.
A little background on me. I'm from Alabama. Was in the air force as an engine specialist on f16s. I spent my whole career overseas, i loved the job, visited 13 countries got to live in germany and italy where i met my wife. Just didn't want to raise a family in the military. I also didn't like being told what to do. not in a general sense, I still follow allot of the military standards even today. But i'm not going to listen to some jack hole that's been on bombers his whole career has to say about what he thinks will fix something. I spent my career on this airframe and i have fixed the exact issue but my suggestion is ignored, do what were told and its still broke. Ridiculous.
Anyways, I had a job lined up with GE once i got stateside, but a few months before I seperated I was offered to start and run an ADAS calibration company for a chain of bodyshop companies in my hometown. Their main concern was liability, whoever they'd used before didnt follow the required OE setup procedures and were manipulating calibrations to force a pass. There were lawsuits coming up and they wanted it done right. And that was that. Got back home and hit the ground running.
That first year went to figuring out how to get these cars done correctly, with proper documentation, to keep the shop clear of liability, on top of an admin and business side. It was just my wife and I until about a year ago we hired a tech to help with the workload. Before that If there was an issue I had to troubleshoot I'd sublet it out, I just didn't have time. calibrations always get paid so those take priority. By the time we got another tech and streamlined admin processes I started to diagnose and troubleshoot those cars we had to sublet out. It also allowed me to take advantage of j2534 programming which we would always sublet.I really haven't had too many issues with troubleshooting. Ill run into a wall here and there but because of my background I really fell comfortable with most things.Generally I stick to the OE fault tree, most of my work is insurance claim related and having the OE process documented will get the job approved no questions asked. sometimes that takes forever and doesn't make sense (thats why im here today but that'll be in a different post) so these lessons and the book are a massive resource.
