I know he recommended a picoscope. But how about snap on modis because the scope?

Personally I'd start with a premium account. There's a wealth of knowledge and training over there. Buying the paper book or E-book will definitely help following along with the classroom lectures.
As far as scan tools and scopes that depends on what you're looking for. We have a few topics in the diagnostic tools section, be sure to check them out.

There is a snap on modis for sale at the pown shop for 1,732. With all the keys.. and plugs.. do u think this will work just to start up.. or the modis ultra.and thanks again .
