I have a 1995 Monte Carlo LS. I have a misfire on the #3 cylinder. After checking it with a scan tool I get a #17 error code, which is the camshaft sensor circuit error. I changed out the sensor and still have the same issue. It ran fine for about 10 minutes then started missing again. I decided to unplug the cam sensor while the car was running just to see what would happen and the miss stopped and the car has been running fine. I have been driving it around for several months now with the sensor unplugged and the car has been running great. If I plug it back in the miss will come back. I still have the #17 code. Can someone tell me what the issue might be?
