Hello, my name is Carl and I am a DYIer - a shadetree mechanic for many years doing all of my own automotive work (mostly) and learning on the fly. When it comes to mechanical, I generally solve my own problems and do my own repairs (outside of transmission tear downs - stayed away from that). Until recently, most electrical problems were simple things, but as my vehicles get newer, I have to deal more with electronics and computers, which is not a strong point for me, although I do have a keen desire for learning it.
While searching Youtube for diagnostic help, I came across one of ScannerDanner's videos, which didn't quite help me with the problem I had at the time but intrigued me enough to look at some of his other videos, which lead me to order his book - and that helped me solve the problem.
I think the biggest thing I have learned so far is the more I learn, the more I realize how much I really don't know!
