I watched the two videos on the Saab 9-3 last evening and puzzled over why Saab would fire all the spark plugs multiple times in rapid succession when the ignition was turned off. It occurred to me that they might be trying to ensure the plugs are not fouled/are clean to make the next startup easier. Then I wondered if this is something Saab does in general or if it is a strategy for the engines with the coil pack that senses spark p[lug resistance to deduce timing?
