This will be a multi-part series with the first part due out Tuesday the 19th.
It came back in as a no start with no spark after 5 weeks of flawless driving.
I won't spill the beans here but I know for a fact you guys will like this one.
Here are the links to the videos when we saw this thing the last time:

Awesome! Can't wait to see where this one ends up, always enjoy the multipart series.

My first thought is that your new distributor went bad, but that probably wouldn't require a multipart series...

Watched the first part today,h can't wait for the next one! I don't mind the 'keeping it simple for the rookies' thing at all. It is a real balancing act, working out how much information to include, so that the demonstration makes sense but doesn't confuse.

Just now, I'm remembering another EEC-IV video you did that ended up having a bad PCM power feed? I'm vague on the details now, I'll have to go watch it again.

Finished the last part yesterday, loved it. My theory about the SPOUT circuit causing a no spark didn't pay out, but at least got mentioned during the video.

Am I to understand that the owner had a problem with the FREE work he got done at the school? During which you successfully avoided PCM replacement? Maybe he was just frustrated at the time?

Yeah, that spout circuit variable kicked my ass here. (See video)
What I learned from that:
If the ECM is not powered up on these systems the spout circuit will interrupt spark!
So a quick test for this other than simply unplugging the spout? Does the fuel pump prime when you turn the key on? If yes, then the ECM is alive.

My students did tell me that the owner was not happy with me...
He was frustrated for sure.

I haven't watched this set of videos, but I have the desire to share a Ford EEC-IV experience based on the comments.

Mustang - EEC-IV: Mechanically healthy
Condition: Stored long term without cranking engine
Problems reported: Can't recall exactly
Discovery: P.I.P. signal error (Inverted wave form best describes it)
Repair: New distributor

Conclusion: Long term storage resulted in a magnetized distributor, which changed the PIP signal.

This stumped us for a bit, thank goodness for lab scopes!
