will a bad coil cause ecu the shut off injector pulse? honda/acura
my neighbor has a 92 honda civic hatchback with a acura tsx engine and rsx ecu and with a dead cylinder.after doing cylinder drop test we found cyl 2 was not contributing,we quickly found the injector had no control from ecu and no spark on number 2,we swapped coil over to cylinder one and that number 2 cyl now had injector control and spark so number 2 was now good and number cyl now has dead cylinder so it looks like a new coil pack will be the fix and a dead coil pack causes the ecu to actually shut down injector control?
my question is,is this a common strategy of ecu or is this more a honda strategy?i assume this is to prevent cylinder washing.
i was almost down the path a either open control wire or bad ecu till we swapped the coils around as i didnt think a bad coil would cause a injector control issue
