2008 dodge nitro crank no start was created by Brandihawkins
Hello everyone. I have a 2008 dodge nitro r/t ( 4.0l 4x4) . 2 months ago I was driving home after getting fuel and I went to push the gas pedal and she started acting like she was starving for fuel. And died. I put her in park and tried to start her and all she did was crank with no start. I got her to a friend's house who is a mechanic and we started trouble shooting her. Here is what we did, test the fuel pressure, pressure is good. Changed the cam senor, crank sensor still nothing. So we went further. Tested the power to the tipm it had power, then we moved on to the coils . Hmm problem one no trigger to coils from pcm. Okay let's move on to the injectors no trigger from pcm to that either. Alright problem found we thought. Except one thing power to pcm was good. Order a new one had it flashed to the vin still nothing. Bought a new tipm had it flashes, still nothing.
We have checked every ground we can find. All of them good. Literally the only thing wrong is no trigger to coils and injectors from pcm. The only code that comes up is o2 sensor on bank one under threshold. Does anyone have any ideas . We don't have a dodge dealership any where close to me. The chevy dealership wants to do a compression check . But they 400 bucks to do that. I've poured over 2000 into parts so far with no results.

Right, but do the injectors and the coils have power on either wire during cranking? It's important to know because, not only will the coils and injectors not fire without power, but it's also tells you if the ASD relay is working.

If you find that the coils and injectors have power during cranking, then I'd consider a skipped timing belt. If the CMP and CKP go out of sync, the PCM will not fire the coils or injectors. A skipped belt on this engine often won't set codes.
