2017 Dodge Journey with P0304 was created by oilythumb
i am working on a 2017 dodge journey sxt, with the v6 engine, the complaint in this unit is misfiring. I scanned the vehicle an it had po304, on start up i felt no misfiring,(and with the scanner misfire counter). Drove it to work (after about 1/2 hour) as I slowed down I can feel it judder to a stop, then while at an idle I can feel the misfire.MY ATTEMPT AT DIAGNOSING: REMOVED these parts to a different location on engine move cylinder 4 spark plug to cylinder 2 and cylinder 4 coil to cylinder 6, Erased codes drove it the next day to work (no misfiring until) after about 1/2 hour drive misfiring on cylinder 4 started, removed the oil cap while its was idling to check for any vacuum, no vacuum. Oh LTFT on bank 2 is around -7.2 while bank 1 is at 1.Did a compression test (at about 6 compression strokes per cylinder) Cylinders 2 & 4 was around 115 psi ,Cylinder 6 was 120psi and Cylinder 1 was 125psi (didn't do the other cylinders). I spent yesterday in it for over a hour (mainly stationary) revving the engine but no misfire accruing, (even with power braking an a 5 min drive around the block). Is there something I am missing?

Which bank is cylinder 4 on? LTFT of -7.2% on bank 2 indicates the PCM is trying to lean out a (perceived) rich condition there. If cyl #4 is on bank 2, try swapping its injector with one from the other side and see if the misfire moves along with the LTFT value

cylinder 4 is on bank 2, closest to the radiator, i did move the injector from cylinder 4 to a different location ,but the fault still remains on cylinder 4

Did you check the wiring to the coil and injector on cylinder 4? What readings are you getting?

i did check the resistance value of the injector 2&4 for comparison and both values was the same, cant remember of hand the value, i also did a compression test (with engine cold) the values are :Cylinder 2 & 4 =115 psi, Cylinder 6 = 120 psi and Cylinder 1 =125psi (didn't do 3 & 5).
I am thinking to do this test again when the vehicle is hot an misfiring, I should mention there is no ticking coming from the engine

I'm not talking about the resistance of the injectors themselves but what are the voltage readings at the connector that plugs into the injector? Did you try plugging in a noid light to see if it flashes with that injector activated?

The same thing with the connector to the coil. What are your voltage readings going to the coil?
