H3 stall question was created by Bennett87
2006 hummer H3 3.5l inline 5
Started to stall throw engine lights, and idle erratically. Tested cylinder leak down and found that the intake valves on the cylinder head were leaking.
Purchased a rebuilt cylinder head did the install replaced front cover oil pump plugs pulleys and Timing set on the front of the engine only.
Took it for a drive would stall every once in a while. Hooked it up to a scan to relearned my crank position sensor. Went for a long drive everything was smooth and then it stalled again throwing crank position code again.
Replaced the crankshaft sensor and relearned. Now when I start it, it runs fantastic until operating temp hits then it shuts off like a key turn. Fuel trims appear to be good. I did notice 5v at both wires on the crank sensor. I am not sure what else to think other then a possible ECM fault. I will be taking it to the dealer to reset the ECM and update hopefully with some form of success. I am at a loss any body had something similar happen to them with the stall at idle operating temp?

I have the same problem on an 09 H3 just after the timing chain was replaced. P0017 Runs fine for 15 minutes then dies and stop signs and turns.

If OP doesn't respond with the fix to their own issue, I recommend starting a new post of your own. That way you can keep the details of your job separate from this one. Having a question asked on top of an unresolved question just makes the whole thing harder to read through, and ultimately harder to help you.
