When accelerating medium to high, the vehicle will buck hard

I assumed it was a lean condition. Via scan tool I checked out fuel trims, they looked normal. O2 were a little lazy, but registered rich under acceleration when maf was disconnected.

The vehicle drove well with maf disconnected. All looked great on the scan tool.

So I assumed the maf was the issue. Installed a new maf and the problem immediately returned. .

So I’m guessing when I disconnected the maf, the car went into open loop although it didn’t indicate that on the scan tool.

What I don’t get is that car accelerates well when maf is disconnected but surges violently when connected.

So I’m assuming fuel delivery, coils, and spark are good.

With maf connected, car snap throttles with no problem.

Thoughts or suggestions?

I’m thinking of doing the following next:

Scope current ramps
Scope tps
Scope plugs
