Good day! New to this forum we have a Nissan xtrail 2005 model 2.0 L petrol engine and the problem is with the throttle or pedal position sensor high input. Is it possible to find the correct repair with just a multimeter since I can't afford a scope? Thank you very much!

Yes you can... using the DC volt setting.
Both the TPS and PPS work the same. Each has three wires.
5v reference
Signal
Ground

Before testing inspect your wiring. Make sure the connector is not corroded and the wires are in good repair. If you have not abused your vehicle you should not have any problems with wiring and the problem is probably a bad TPS or PPS.

You will need your multi meter and a T pin to back probe wires. With the Key On Engine Off (KOEO) at the TPS back probe each of the three wires one at a time. You should have 5v on one wire, .3-.9v on the second and less than 100mv on the third. The 5v is your reference wire. The .3-.9v is your signal wire and less than 100mv is the ground wire. You should have the same reading on the PPS. (Note: the readings I gave you are for a good working TPS and PPS) I suspect you're going to have different readings. One or both of the sensors could have bad readings.
With the T pin back probed in the signal wire slowly move the throttle to wide open. The readings should be consistent .3v closed throttle to 4.5v wide open. If your closed voltage is above .5v and the movement voItage smooth clean the throttle body and plate and redo test. If the closed voltage is high, the sensor is most likely bad. Do the same test for the PPS.

I could go into the ground wire issue, but try the tests first and see if you can identify a faulty sensor.

Thank you very much! I have a question regarding bias voltage of the signal wire. Will you see bias voltage by probing the signal wire with the connector unplugged? I tried probing the unplugged connector (6 pin) and found 1 5v reference signal. I thought the bias voltage would appear I guess I need to study more on bias voltage.
