2014 Durango 3.6L misfire scope results. was created by Armadous101
Hello all

I am attaching my secondary cop picoresults from my durango and would like any feedback because I maybe missing something and I dont want to do the injector if i dont have to.

New oe champion plugs and the coil was switched to number1. misfire didnt go away from 4. the head is of the new redesigned left heads that dodge had a tsb for becuase this is a later model. The results clearly say to me injector especially with its recent backfiring but anyone see something else.

I apologize if I dont respond right away as my mother just passed away sunday morning and it was completly not expected especially at her age so please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother, Armadous101. :( Take all the time you need.

For our reference, under what conditions was this capture taken? Idle, off idle, throttle snap? Was the misfire happening? Which secondary probe were you using?

There's definitely a downward slope to most of the spark lines. But, it also looks like the probe was moving around on the coil during the capture. The firing line is never very high, either. Have you experimented with the placement of the probe on the coil?

Have you tried a relative compression test? I know it has got the updated head, but that doesn't mean there isn't a compression problem.

For anyone following along, Armadous101 appears to have been using a Pico 2204 to take this capture. I've found that the Automotive versions of Pico 6 and 7 won't open captures taken from the Pico 2000 series.

If you want to view this capture (and others taken with the 2000 series), you'll need to download the associated software from the Pico website:

www.picotech.com/downloads

For fun, I tried using the Tests and Measures Early Access version of Pico 7 and had success. :cheer:

Thank you for your kind words and reply. Funeral and related events are winding down so trying to get back to what will be the new normal for our family.

This was taken at idle and the ptc probe was only able to be up against the side of the coil not on top because the manifold. I went ahead and swapped the fuel injector with cylinder 1 and the misfire moved.

However, after a replacement injector has now been installed brand new as well and a reset memory and ECU function has been done on my autel cylinder 1 still has the misfire.

So that early access downloadable version will work with my 2204 like normal? Is that right or am i reading that wrong.

I'm not sure? I don't have a 2204 to experiment with. I was just trying to find a way to look at your waveform. :silly:

:(

Time for a relative compression, IMO.
