Ford Mondeo (Europe) Duratec 1.8 Injector Signal was created by Ben0815
Hello everybody,
got me a small 2-channel PicoScope in order to find the cause for a rough idling engine with slightly fluctuating rpm on a Ford Mondeo MK3 1.8 (B5Y) Duratec HE 2006 (Europe). No DTCs, no misfire counter, PCM is a Visteon "Black Oak" with integrated EDIS Ignition System.
When scoping the injectors, I got these waveforms (s. attachments), which show at first single - then suddenly appearing - double injector signals. These inconsistent signals seem to be in sync with the audible and perceptible misfires of the engine when running (here: at idle). They appear spontaneously on all cylinder with the exact pattern.
In addition I scoped the crank- and camshaft sensors (s. attachments).
Can somebody evaluate these waveforms/signals?
Thank you,
Ben

An expert is someone who knows each time more on each time less, until he finally knows absolutely everything about absolutely nothing.

Ramón fro Kentucky Home Garage encountered something similar on a Ford Focus.
The double pulse may be a computer strategy to stabilize the idle.
Scoping makes a lot of sense to me BUT you need to compare your results to something known, may this something be good or bad. In this case you seem to lack a reliable reference.
Does anything stand out in the scan data, fault codes, freeze frame. Which other tests have you done?
You probably will find misfire data in mode 6....
