P0171,P0174,P0446,P0496. Vehicle stalls only when cold. Will stall if i hold brake and put truck in Drive and blip the throttle. Will not stall in reverse. Idles perfectly in P or N. But will idle funky in drive. Will also stall sometimes when taking a turn or stoping abruptly.I already checked that torque converter slip and that looks good. Have checked for vacum leaks with water and starting fluid but no change. (I dont have smoke tester). St and lt fuel trims actually look good every time i have checked them both cold and warm. I have a similar truck that works well so I have changed over the MAF and throttle body but no change. Ruled out the brake booster by pinching line. Looks like vehicle was recently in a wreck and was put together by an individual that does not know what they are doing. I have also tugged on wires all over the engine to see if i get a reaction but i get nothing. Engine mounts are shot aswell so engine does move alot when doing these tests. Not sure what else to do at this point. Other than that the truck has plenty of power and drives well. Does anyone have a clue or tips? Thank yall very much
Lean condition caused by egr stuck open. I capped the port for the egr on manifold but truck still stalls. Vehicle fuel trims look good at all times. Egr seems to be failing only sometimes and thats when it shows lean. But that is not the cause for it stalling. Still have not found the issue. Intake tube has been checked aswell. No cracks or leaks found. No other codes. I feel like ive checked everything that i can think of. This 5.3 does have the vvt and cylinder deact but all of that looks good on the datastream. Anyone have an idea?
