12 volts not present at the ignition coil was created by angelcoamo44
Hi...The vehicle is a 1996 Mitsubishi montero 3.0L 12V....It doesn't start, no spark, check engine light doesn't shine in the dashboard (bulb is good)...I need to know if it is a grounding issue of the ecm...How can I obtain a picture or diagram showing the physical location of these grounding points..?...Can I take the grounding pins on the ecm and ground them on other location...?...12 volts are not present at the ignition coil...How I can get 12 volts at the ignition coil in order to get a spark.?..Help please...

Couple videos that I resort back to. I struggle with ground side switching. Part of it was back in the 90's everything I worked on with semi trucks & trailers and had a 12 volt system. When I moved over to cars after being on the road driving those same semi trucks I have struggled.

Generally I have to watch then go do. I've probably watched hundreds of hours of training videos, YouTube videos, reading books, etc, you name it.

Maybe I need to see a hypnotist. Lol....

Here's one video by a well respected guy in the industry,

Here's another by another well respected guy that actually created this website.

Also if you have the chance get Paul's book aka Scannerdanner $99 @ AESwave.com and when in the cart try the code FreeShip , FreeShipping to see if it offers free shipping as some stuff it works with. Trick I learned as I order quite a bit from there or maybe should say I use to.

I either have a shopkey, identifix, alldata subscription and if I don't have a current subscription I buy by the vehicle for about $20 and charge it to the vehicle I'm working on as part of the costs as it gives you wiring diagrams, etc. You can go by the month, year, multiyear if it's a personal vehicle also.

Also Paul has his premium channel for $11-$12 per month which you can learn a ton of information off of. He don't post all of his videos to YouTube but also on his website so those members enjoy those videos there as part of their subscription plus you can take his virtual class he's created online without ever having to step foot in a classroom but keep in mind you still want to follow up with hands on training also.
