Idle surge was created by Throckrocket
Hi! I have a 2000 dodge ram 5.9 Cummins 5 speed. Runs great for the first 5 mins in the mornings. After 5 mins it idles rough (like a miss) It idles between 800-1200rpm Fluctuating. As soon as I barley hit the throttle or lay into it, the rpms will fall at about 1050 and stay there until i put it in gear then it drops in idle to about 800 rpm. When driving it, it runs just fine, but when I come to a stop it idles high. I had a map Sensor code and replaced that sensor and check engine light went away. What would cause the high idle..apps aka throttle position sensor? Thank you!

Have you checked for vacuum leaks?
