It turned out my problem was the valve cover with the built in PCV valve. Replaced the cover and reset adaptions and fuel trims are near zero and no pending codes. Thanks everyone for your input!

Did you find this with your new smoke machine?

No I found it before my smoke machine arrived. There are not too many vacuum hoses on this car and I heard that these pcv valves built in the cover are prone to fail. I unclipped the hose on the valve cover from the pcv to the intake and put my thumb on it and the car immediately started correcting itself from lean to normal. This led me to believe that the vacuum leak was not downstream from there but in that valve cover. Picked up a replacement cover and installed and reset adaptations and no pending codes and fuel trim is fine. I can’t believe that was causing 65% fuel trim at idle but apparently that was the culprit or at least it appears to be. Drove it for about 45 mins and all is good for now.

Thanks again for everyone’s help and guidance. Without support I probably would have been a parts changer and replaced my mass air sensor or oxygen sensor lol. It was scanner danner’s video I found about a seized alternator on a Mini Cooper preventing the engine from turning that got me started on getting my Mini Cooper running after 2 years with very limited car repair knowledge. This is a great group and wish I could go back in time 40 years and become a mechanic. Happy New Year everyone!

I remember that one! :silly: Early SD days when he was still filming out of the classroom.
