Click bait title, I do apologize....but:
Have a look at the picture, what do you think it might be. This is some kind of inverted diagnostic process; we (hopefully) see the cause but what would be the resulting problem?

End of the riddle......
broken spark plug, missing center and side electrode. Because of the residues this was ongoing for some time. The cylinder still had compresion and came back to live with a new plug and coil,... for the moment. On top of the piston there were some slight dent marks, but the surface is carbonized as well, nothing shiny there

I was thinking the first pic was a diesel injector crush washer? :huh: The injector had been loose or something, hence the rough surface. WAY off. :lol:
