05 hyundai sonata odd code issues. was created by ba109296
05 sonata 2.4 autoCheck engine light will pop only at WOT and after a shift. Once you let off the pedal it will sometimes go away. I did a video of what pops up in the pending codes on my snap on scanner.recent timing belt, water pump, plugsI have tried 3 different sets of ignition coils. The codes don't always stay the same. Compression is good. Called hyundai and there are no recalls.

Well 1 at a time it has a problem with what it's seeing from the TPS, enter live data and graph the TPS voltage KOEO slowly apply the accelerator pedal to WOT and see if there's any glitches in the voltage (typically less than 1 volt to over 4 volts (you can also graph TPS %) the exact % isn't important if it makes it to 98 % close enough your looking for glitches in the signal or only making it to 60% or something like that. the misfire may be related to the injector circuit code, I would start with TPS first

Tps showed a fault a few weeks ago and was replaced with an oem unit.
at that time I tested it.

I'm not sure if these are actual good codes based on how they are just randomly cycling.

What codes do you get in Global OBD? If Global doesn't have the same goofy behavior, I'd rely on it instead of the OEM codes.

Does it feel like a misfire?? Current clamp the injectors if you have a scope.

When the light pops on it definitely kills power and acts like its a missfire. Then light goes away and all is good again. Until it does it again.

I’d definitely hook up the scope to the injectors. One channel around the control wires and one backprobing the#3 injector
