I have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 H.O. low idle vacuum (10" Hg) and high positive Long Term Fuel Trim (LTFT) LTFTB1 = 8% & LTFTB2 = 14% & 600 RPM, engine recently rebuilt & all new sensors installed. Somewhat rough idle @ 600 RPM. No check engine lights or codes currently. Not all hoses seeing manifold vacuum were replaced. This engine uses a MAP, O2, crank, cam, engine coolant, etc. sensors for control. I suspect a vacuum leak. I have sprayed intake & some of vacuum hoses & connections as well as throttle body with starting fluid with no changes on idle speed. The only vacuum hose connections are the PCV valve hose, brake booster hose, emission / fuel purge equipment, & a hose that goes to vacuum reservoir / cruise control. I disconnected the line to vacuum reservoir / cruise control & plugged intake port w rubber cap (no changes to LTFT or manifold vacuum (steady 10" Hg)) I plan to disconnect the rest of vacuum lines & plug w cap & monitor LTFT & manifold vacuum. I have not tried a smoke machine to look for vacuum leaks.
Can yall think of any other causes or recommended testing?

I think i was reading my new scan tool wrong...(INNOVA 5512) the MAP reading was 10 in Hg.....I assumed it was in vacuum....I think its actually absolute pressure (atmospheric pressure - vacuum = MAP)...Im at sea level so 30"Hg - 20"Hg = 10"Hg...ill check the user manual
Now I can quit chasing phantom vacuum leaks and figure out why high LTFT at idle.

8 and 14 LTFT aren't bad. What's the STFT doing? 0?. What's important is what they do when you increase RPM. High LTFT at idle is an indicator of a vacuum leak. If they get better with RPM than, vacuum leak. As the 14 is on bank 2, I'm thinking an intake gasket runner leak. Check with engine cold as heat will seal the leak. MAP engine with high MAP reading at idle = vacuum leak. At sea level should be around 8-9hg.
Keep us posted.

Being wrong doesn't bother me, it's being right and not understanding why that does
