Will check engine light come on with Nitrogen-oxide sensor fault code? My brother has just bought an 2009 BMW 530I E60 and I scanned the car for codes no codes when scanned for OBDII codes I guess this is generic codes. When I scanned for BMW codes I had some codes. Could it be old codes that was not erased no light is on car runs great.
30DA Nitrogen-oxide sensor, signal
2B0A DME: Nitrogen-oxide sensor, electric
2B09 DME: Nitrogen-oxide sensor, lambda linear
2B0B DME: Nitrogen-oxide sensor, lambda binary

Congrats to your brother on the new ride! :cheer:

A NOx sensor will absolutely cause the CEL to come on. But, I've found that BMW's (and Mini's) are kinda strange about how they set and store fault codes. The fact that you didn't see anything on the Global side makes me think that all is well.

Personally, I wouldn't act on ANY of those codes unless I had a light on. If it does come on, then absolutely, diagnose away!
