I have a 2001 Toyota Tacoma where the AC clutch is rubbing against the compressor when the AC is turned off. I have a short somewhere because the 10 amp ac fuse keeps blowing. Following the diagram that fuse powers the AC control system and AC pressure switch. I ohmed the magnetic clutch and it was around .5- 1.1 ohms
using ohms law, 12.6 volts divided by .5 ohms comes to 25.2 amps. That's too much!. Unplug the clutch and take measurement there, if you still read that low, then replace the clutch.
I agree with jreardon, your resistance measurement is too low. Most A/C clutches draw two to three amps. That works out to around four ohms, give or take.
