5.7L.

Attachment not found

Had to replace heater hose and fitting, I removed hose them I gently tried to twist out the fitting with a ratchet and 27mm socket I hardly put any pressure on it at all but the fitting broke off where the threads go into the hole. Is there any way to get that threaded sleeve out of there without ruining the threads?

Any ideas appreciated!

Thanks, Pop

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. :silly:

Pretty sure this is the replacement fitting you need:

www.dormanproducts.com/p-37855-800-401.aspx

Then you'll want Lisle #62540 to get the broken end out of the intake:

www.amazon.com/Lisle-62450-Heater-Hose-Coupler/dp/B002QZ49AO/

Finding that kit may be a struggle, unfortunately. :( But you can use it as a starting point.

OR, if the intake is leaking, you can take this opportunity to reseal it! Trying to be a half-full kind of guy today...

I just use a small chisel and chip it inwards and use a shop vac then chase the threads with a npt tap

Looks like this is the approach I will have to go with as the Lisle tool I bought can't get the remaining metal to rotate. The metal is too soft. It just gives way and then free-spins in the hole.

And I am happy to report that I got the hole cleaned out, new fitting installed, and we are good to go. Thank you, all, for the excellent guidance once again! - Pop
