2004 chevy trailblazer 4.2 surging then stalling

Just replaced a timing on a 2004 blazer 4.2 now rpm gos up to 3000 momentarily then drops all the way back down to zero and dies

Any vacuum leaks? I seem to recall the intake manifold is a bit tricky on those.
