Hi I have a question I have a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 straight 6 cylinder engine automatic 4 wheel drive Jeep..no skimer. No security system. The ECU went bad. .I went to junk yard bought 2 ecu's off of two 1996 Cherokee laradoes no skimer no security. Why would they have to be programed to run the engine in my Jeep .to my serial number what in God's name would be in the Jeep that has stored Vin numbers in it to cause a mis match and how can I jump all this if so.? There's all kinds of misleading info on the internet . My Jeep cranks and stalls I have 5 v and CPS / crk ps singals injector power 5 v but I get a code 12 that's the only code I have not pushed the reset switch on the dash.need help the Jeep I thought woul run if I jump the shut down relay it's only four pins .can I send a 5 v signal to a pin on the ECU and get it to run ?
