Hello everyone, i live in Trinidad and i own a 2.9 lit 1988 jaguar XJ6 that is commonly known as a XJ40. From my understand it is the first computerize car in the XJ6 series. My car came from England and it the lower model Jaguar. The engine number is 9APTMA104088 & the chassis numbers is SAJJFALJ3AA524556 and it right hand drive. The car has had numerous owners and i am the last. I don't know too much about its history.

The problem I'm having is a no start. I can say for sure, i am getting spark to the plugs and fuel with correct pressure to the injectors but the injectors are not firing all 6. The engine is a straight 6 and i suspected it is the crankshaft sensor. I eventually got so frustrated that i looked on the web to get a computer but electronic parts are hard to get. I figured it may be a wiring as well. I eventually got a scrap wiring system and all the electronic parts to substitute and still not injectors firing.

My belief is its the crankshaft sensor but i need to get it checked to see if it working properly first. I am also question if the reference voltage is 5 volts or 12 volts? I also need to check all fuses and relays.

Like i said the electronic parts are hard to find especially new. I am sending you this report and to find out if you have a tips to help me resolve this problem? After 5 years of the car being down, I now have the time to try to get it started.
