Hello, I changed a simple plastics steering coupler in a 2011 kia optima for my grandmother, after putting everything back together the traction control light and eps light is now on and the electric power steering will not work at all and did prior. Checked all my work 3 times to be sure. I read many people had the same issue and the eps codes needed to be cleared. My personal scanner would not communicate with the car. I took the car to a dealer, paid them $150 and they said the light will not stay out and told me I need a new module. I did not agree but was able to find a good deal on a module local so I got it and installed it. Still no such luck. The only code that has ever showed was a c1623 which I believe is for a steering angle sensor. Wich I did not mess with at all. Not sure what to try next, if the dealer can't erase the codes.. anyone have an idea? Every dealer I talk to says different so not sure what think thanks.
