Power steering pressure switch live data was created by Kylet1990
Hi everyone, I've spent the last 2 month looking for the cause of a engine hesitation on my ford cmax 1.6 petrol. I've checked everything I can think of and was ready to give up when I come across a post online saying a faulty power steering pressure switch can cause engine hesitation when load from the steering is unexpectedly put on the engine. I've took a video and upload it to YouTube of the live data on forescan I took. The sensor appears to drop to 0kpa every time I move the steering wheel. Is this normal? Thanks

If its a pressure switch it will have just two wires and it will show 12 volts or zero volts.

If its a pressure sensor it will have 3 wires going to it which wiuld give a kpa or psi reading on scantool.

Make sure which one you have first.

If it is 3 wires then it looks like it is bad.

If it has 2 wires your scanner may not have a pressure switch loaded into the programming of the scanner and is mistakingly giving you a kpa reading.
