I lost the chip in my ignition key on my 1997 buick century. Dealer said I'd need to buy all 15 keys to find right chip. Is there a way to bypass this system with the key with the chip missing?

The ebay item id given is invalid, no result has been sentI am not an expert, but what I understood is you can bypass the system with a resistor, but you would need the original key, so that you could measure the resistance and get the correct resistor...
you could probably wire each of these in until you find the one that lets your car start. Probably cheaper and easier than buying and having 15 keys cut

So I cut purple and white wire and solder the correct resistor in.

Cut the PPL/WHT wire and the WHT/BLK wire. Solder the resistor between PPL/WHT wire and the WHT/BLK wire.
