Tuned Mazda 3 strange live data. was created by Desmond6004
2008 Mazda 3. MZR 2.3 DISI TURBO engine.
Our mechanics have just replaced the engine because it was "blowing oil out the exhaust".
The mechanic did a leak-down test and one of the cylinders was bad 'possible cracked rings"[?].
The engine has been replaced and we're just checking live data to see if there is anything that could be
an issue with the new engine and hopefully prevent damaging it.
It's hard to know with a tuned engine whether it's programmed to report garbage on live data but at idle
long term fuel trims are 0% and that jumps to 20% at 2000 RPM.
Short term trims drop for 25% to 18% - with a total of 38% extra fuel.
The map sensor drops from 32kpa to 24kpa - would that be because of the special cam?
Or is the ECU registering a decrease in load from the Map sensor with fuel trims having to compensate for
the subsequent drop in fuel supply?

Getting involved in discussions because I have a lot to learn still.

Replied by Desmond6004 on topic Tuned Mazda 3 strange live data.
We've sent it away - no fault codes come up after a good test drive so no point spending more time on it since it's a tuned ECU and I have no idea how it should look.
