Audi A1 1.6 TDI Alternator Ripple was created by Merrick4
Hi,

I am relatively new to the world of automotive scopes and while experimenting with my Modis I performed a ripple test on my Audi A1. The car drives fine with no issues but I am seeing dips on the waveform. I have compared this to other cars and haven't seen this but then again I am pretty inexperienced. Based on the image, does anyone know if there is an issue here or is this perfectly normal? Thanks!

Hard to tell on that timebase because you can't see the individual diode humps. Knock it down to 20 mS and set the trigger around -100 mV. Then see if it's a repeating 5 humps then drop pattern or just random.
