Hi
Transporter Caravelle 2001
AVT
2,5 petrol 5 cyl.

Fault code on lambda one - malfunction in circuit - sometimes intermittent - somtimes permanent
Fault code on EVAP solenoid - open circuit - intermittent
Fault code on cylinder 4 - missfire detected - intermittent

Changed lambda one - same
Tested EVAP solenoid and even changed it to an other one - same
No problems with any ignition related parts - moved around on spark plugs and leads
Noting wrong with wiring
Nothing wrong in the connector pins - taken out and looked at

This is what the scope looks like (spikes over 50V):

All solenoids, injectors, relays, ignition coils,...anything with a coil of wire, create a magnetic field when they are energized. When this magnetic field collapses, it creates a voltage spike. Seeing this spike is proof that a magnetic field was created (energized), and then collapsed (de-energized).

Thank you dearest Chad!

I have been playing around with the Verus and found out that - at least the fault code on pre cat lambda heating circuit - is due to low voltage from the ground from ECU, not beeing 100%. Or thats what I think.

The fault code P0130 - malfunction in circuit, comes up at could start. Sometimes it also comes up after the engine is warm - I THINK it could be when the voltage dropps on the heater, below 10.5V.
Could it be so?
It looked like the Voltage got higher with warm engine.

2 videos on voltage measurement from the heater, one with the ECU controlled ground and one with ground connected to the battery:

I could put on an extra ground on the heater ground wire.
And see if I get it trough the emission controlls.
But most likely there will be the other two faults coming up:
P0304 - missfire cylinder 4 intremittent
P1426 EVAP solenoid open circuit intermittent
Wouldnt all this point towards the ECU?
