Maybe disconnect the knock sensors to see if it is whats commanding to pull boost , knock sensors have a ton of control over the boost and a ticking can be interpreted as preignition by the ecm
Think I have had similar problem . the pick wheel for cam sensor incorrectly installed . remove cam sensor and check pickup wheel is located properly lug located properly in slot in cam . hope this helps
