A friend dropped of his cruze tonight for me to take a look at and I pulled this code - engine coolant thermostat heater control circuit.
I assume this is in the thermostat but service info is calling the connector on the thermostat the coolant temp sensor and the wire colors don't match the diagram. There is another connector where the upper hose meets the engine, which must be he actual coolant temp sensor since I get -40* when I unplug it. There is another coolant temp sensor I see on the radiator.
I didn't have my bidirectional tool with me to see if I could command anything but I substituted a test light there and on start up the bulb might for maybe 30 seconds, turned off, then radiator fans turned on high. This is what it does while plugged in too. The component is not internally open but I didn't see an ohm spec. So I have good power there and the ECM is providing a ground, at least initially.
My gut tells me the heater is out of spec, but I just want to make sure I'm on the right connector since my SI is not matching up with reality here.
It's the turbo model which I believe is the 1.4.

According to this:
the heater is part of the thermostat.
I am seeing two, different, variations. LUW and LUJ.
LUJ has wire colors of RD/WH and L-BU.
LUW has wire colors of D-BU and VT/D-BU.
