camshaft position sensor signal voltage was created by techdude
2005 VW Jetta 2.0L, DTC P0341-camshaft position sensor not a plausible signal. After measuring signal connected & disconnected the wire reading is 10.25 volts. My question is should voltage be reading 5 volts or 10.25 volts.

Hi techdude,

Specific question which actually i don't. Actually it doesn't matter if you are focus on how circuit works and if your tool allows you.

According to your description, could be a ground switch input (pcm feed signal wire and sensor switches it to ground)

From what I can gather from the service manual that should be a 5v circuit. A 5v reference, CMP signal, and a ground. Sounds like there could be a short somewhere in the circuit.

Not sure if different engine codes would change that or not, but I doubt it.
