Hello everyone, newbie here needing help with a starting point. I will try to make this as simple as possible. Was driving, no issues. Stopped at a store, got back in and no start, but continuous cranking even after releasing the key. Towed home, checking fuses and relays, noticed the fuel relay wasn't sitting the the fuse block very well. (replaced the fuse block and the car now starts and runs. Hooked up my el-cheapo Foxwell NT510 Elite to the OBD port. No comms for the OBD part of the scanner, but I was able to scan the Mercedes part. I have numerous fault codes, both stored and current, some with both. Obviously the current codes are an issue, but none of the current codes relate to fuel/running issues. My biggest concern is no OBD comms yet I am able to read other system codes. Where should I start?
Please note, SRS codes are fine, i have a seat removed to test voltage at fuel pump and the auxiliary battery has been replaced.

I also have a NT510 and have run into vehicles that it doesn't communicate with via the generic OBDII side. I'd be willing to bet this is an issue with the scan tool, not your car. As for all the other codes, well, it's German. I think they come from the factory with a hundred codes for everything from the glove box to the cigarette lighter.

You'd think being a vehicle specific scanner, that would work at a minimal. The OBD did work on my truck and I was even able to read more than expected. Perhaps I will reach out to the manufacturer.
