We have injector Pulse and made sure they weren’t clogged (blocked up) as well. I’m thinking the cam and crank and not matching because it sound like backfire sometimes come from intake. We check the timing already.

Yes we did. We tried starting fluid. This one really has me thinking so I’m open to any help I can get and thanks to everyone who has responded already. I finally was able to take a cam and crank waveform from it but I can’t get it to upload

I haven't seen anything yet? I'll keep checking this morning.

EDIT: Never mind, got it!

I'll have to find another known good. The CKP reluctor wheels are completely different.

Has this engine been apart recently? Used engine? Chains replaced?

From what I can tell, two things happened around '08. One, the CKP reluctor changed, from 12+1 in the known good I posted, to yours with too many teeth for me to count right now. :silly: Two, the exhaust CMP reluctor changed, from the 4+1 in mine, to one that looks like the trace in blue:

I can't find any waveforms that have your particular combination of CKP and CMP. In every example I've found, if the vehicle has the new CKP waveform, it also has the new exhaust CMP waveform.

Am I missing something here?

Ckp and cmp sensors fail.... some fail by over reporting rpm i just had one from a caddy reporting 8400 rpm on the camshaft and crank sensors reporting extra tooth marks from crank. It could be in this case the sensor trips out more signals than it should. Just do the math to figure out rpm

Yeah, sorry about that. I posted a screenshot from your waveform, but posting .PSD files to the forums gets weird. Kunena (the forum software) doesn't support .PSD files, so you have to change the file extension to something it does support in order to upload it. Then it gets tricky for whoever tries to open it afterwards. It can be done, but it's work. :silly:

Yep, something goofy happened here. Maybe they installed a replacement cylinder head assembly? One way or another, this engine got Frankenstein'd.

If I had to guess, I'd say they installed a cylinder head assembly from an older K24 engine. That'd explain why the CKP is off a 'newer' engine, but the CMP is off an older one.

Now's the time to call the other shop and ask exactly what happened.
