Yeah, sorry about that. I posted a screenshot from your waveform, but posting .PSD files to the forums gets weird. Kunena (the forum software) doesn't support .PSD files, so you have to change the file extension to something it does support in order to upload it. Then it gets tricky for whoever tries to open it afterwards. It can be done, but it's work. :silly:

Tyler to answer your question yes the engine taken apart to change the head gasket. It came from another shop also can you email me the known good cam and crank wave form you have please.

Yep, something goofy happened here. Maybe they installed a replacement cylinder head assembly? One way or another, this engine got Frankenstein'd.

If I had to guess, I'd say they installed a cylinder head assembly from an older K24 engine. That'd explain why the CKP is off a 'newer' engine, but the CMP is off an older one.

Now's the time to call the other shop and ask exactly what happened.

Great to hear! I dunno where I thought this thread would end, but it sure wasn't here. :silly: Definitely good to know for anyone playing with K24's around this model year.

Now, I gotta ask... If the engine had spark, injection pulse, fuel pressure, and (some) compression, why didn't it start? Yeah, I know, the camshaft, but what about the camshaft specifically? Was the spark timing off due to the reluctor? Or was valve timing off because the cam itself is different?

Everything is the same but Reluctor wheel. Thats all we really needed to change, even with the low compression, the car had no trouble trying to start. It kicked right over on the first crank wow. we compared the waveforms and see where it was firing off time. Tyler, I sent you the know good from the 2010 in case you needed it for all your help. If anyone else needs it please let me know.

Talk about a curve ball!
Nice work, way to stick with it and come out the other end with a repair (and a lesson in Honda engine design differences :) )
