im trying to fix this thing. im in hvac data and looking at ac denial reason it comes up as ambient temperature. the ambient air temp on the radio display shows 16 degrees so i put a 10,000 ohm resistor in place but didnt change anything. so is there a reset or something?? they have a ambient air quality sensor which is under the cowl panel but im not sure what it does.

There should be a ambient temp sensor in front of radiator small two wire connector. Pull the connector and see if the pid changes

I have a resistor jumped in the 2 terminal connector should be same resistance as around 60 degrees or so. According to the temp vs resistance chart

Not that I’m aware of it’s a 3 wire one. Haven’t looked that deep yet in it

Ok i think it might be worth while to do a resistance check or load test it with a test light or a resistance dial and adjusting it a couple times to see if it changes

There is a manual reset procedure for it as well I think its press mode, defrost, rear defrost at same time for about 10 seconds

What a joke!
Glad you got it. I've been bit by ABS problems on Buicks that just won't go away until you drive it, but I seriously wouldn't have suspected that out of an ambient temperature problem.
Good find.
