hey guys, fairly new to running the lab scope daily. Question. How can you view both CMP sensors on a 09 Corolla 1.8 on a Verus Edge when you only have 1 lead (yellow channel) with both the signal and ground test leads? How can you view both CMP sensors of this design at the same time? I may be over thinking this, but the green blue and red leads only have a single test lead.
Thanks in advance.

The ground is shared internal in the scope. As long as you have black COM port connected to ground, you're good to hook up the yellow, green, red and blue channels to whatever you want.
You would need to "piggy back" the ground if you wanted to use an amp clamp or something on one of those channels, but that's why the yellow/black lead has the little dangler on it.

Thanks for the reply. Inunderstand the shared ground/com port. But what about sensor designs like this Corolla? Where there is no 1 single signal carrying circuit? Where it is a 3 wire sensor and you must back probe 2 of the wires to get your signal? Sorry can't remember the correct name of this design sensor. The yellow lead is the only lead with signal and com. Does this mean I need to buy another yellow lead so I would have 2 leads with signal and com leads for testing designs like this?
I scope many Chrysler, GM, etc cam crank setups, and numerous other things. But I ran into this Corolla yesterday and has me perplexed. What am I missing here? Thanks again.

3 wire sensor is hall effect sensor (power, ground and signal) so get a lead on the signal wire. There's two cam sensors, so get a lead on that one too. The crank sensor is vrs (variable reluctance sensor) so it makes it's own ac voltage. Put a lead on that. Ground the black com wire and hook it up the com port. So it looks some thing like this:

Ok. So you only have to scope the + signal circuit. I thought I had to go across the + and - with the yellow and black leads to get a correct signal. Thanks a bunch for for the info and pic
