U sing a scanner to turn on a radiator fan with bidirectional control , just curious on this question, is the scanner bypassing the coolant sensor to turn the
fan on or it uses the sensor in the process.
I ask because on a 2014 Focus I can command the fan on by using the tool but it would not activate under normal condition.
The cut in temp is 209 deg and the car passes that .I used a aftermarket coolant sensor and that did not solve the issue
Any insight welcomed

It will be a multi speed fan I would suspect yours like some scantools is testing the highest speed. High speeds generally activate at about 115 to 118c
