Well I pride myself on being a good diagnostic tech but this one has really taken me for a loop.
Here's the details:
1992 Lexus SC400, customer states was driving then shut off, would restart but die immediately back out. Checked the basics, spark, fuel , inputs from the cams, crank and airflow, looked for vacuum leaks, harness problems and all scope cranking signature patterns normal. They all drop out at the same time. Injector pulse normal.
So I got a salvage pcm hoping that would fix it since nothing else seems to work. (cheap) No luck same problem.
I got a salvage airflow meter- same thing. Now the airflow meter runs the same plugged of unplugged which is why I suspected it to be at fault.
Pre- OBD II makes it difficult to get serial stream data to monitor, even with the proper adapters which I have. (old school) as for counting the blinking light, only the trans light flashes continuously no pulses when trying to get codes.
I am sure I am missing something. Your thoughts appreciated!

Check your fuel pump ecu. Seen this issue before. I believe you can bypass the unit to prove it. Here’s a diagram.

Making Pressure Differential Sensors (PDA Sensors) for pressure pulse diagnostics.
